Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, which is used to stop the so-called email spoofing where an e-mail message can be sent from one e-mail, but to look as being sent from another, typically with the objective to fraud the recipient in some way. When SPF protection is enabled for a domain, a unique record is created for it in the Domain Name System and all the DNS servers worldwide receive it. The record features all email servers that are permitted to send valid messages from an e-mail address under the domain. When an email is sent, the first DNS server it goes to verifies the SPF record and if the sending server is authorized, the message is sent to the target receiver. In case, however, the sending server doesn't exist in the SPF record for the particular domain, the message won't be sent and it will be removed. When you use this service, it'll stop third parties from sending spam messages that seem to have been sent from you.

SPF Protection in Web Hosting

SPF protection can be enabled for every domain name hosted in a web hosting account on our cloud hosting platform with only a few clicks. The option is available in the Emails section of our outstanding Hepsia Control Panel and all you need to use it is to pick one of your domain names from the drop-down list and enter the hostnames along with the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the mail servers that will be authorized to send emails from your emails. As an additional option you can even restrict the messages to be sent from your domain only if it includes our MX records, i.e. if our servers manage the e-mail addresses for it, not some third-party provider. This option provides you with the top level of safety, but it is not applicable when only your website is on our servers while your emails for the domain are taken care of somewhere else. Either way, the SPF protection service will keep your emails risk-free from being used for spam or scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

The SPF protection function is provided with all the semi-dedicated servers, so if you host your domain names in an account on our cloud web hosting platform, you can activate the service effortlessly for all your domain names. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is included with the semi-dedicated accounts, features a very user-friendly interface, which means that you will not need to be proficient in the use of computers to protected your e-mails. You'll simply have to type the hostname and the IP of each mail server that you'd like to be authorized to send out emails from your addresses and shortly after that the updated record will be active for the domain that you have chosen. As a further option, we will also allow you to restrict the outgoing email messages and protect your mailboxes even better by permitting emails to be sent only if the domain name in question has our MX records i.e. the email messages for the domain should be managed here and not by some other provider. By doing this you'll enjoy even better control and there won't be any chance for someone to counterfeit your e-mails for malicious objectives.
