A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to invalid addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss messages because the other party has an outdated address or has made a mistake. The downside of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of unsolicited messages, but this issue can be fixed by using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also crucial to bear in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot forward incoming messages to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

If you’ve got a web hosting with our company and you’d like to activate the catch-all option for a particular mailbox that you have in your hosting account, it will take literally only one mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each email address that you have created under any domain hosted in your account. You can select one email address per domain by clicking the respective button. This will activate the feature immediately, so all messages sent to mistyped email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button for a second time will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got active email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary message and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you disable the forwarding or you can simply choose another mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all address can be created with several clicks in case you have a semi-dedicated server with our company. The hosting account will be managed via our in-house built Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll be able to create mailboxes using any domain registered there. To enable the catch-all feature for a certain mailbox, you’ll have to click the symbol with the exact same name, which will be next to each email address. Disabling this feature can be accomplished in the same manner and will not take more than one click either. In case the catch-all functionality has already been enabled for a particular domain name, you will receive a notification. The same goes if the mailbox that you would like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never deactivate or modify any feature automatically.
